Sitting alone in silence for hours
Enjoying the glistening water and the burning sun
Listening to the rain and slowly dreaming away
Wandering around the city
Peaceful, Satisfied
Day turns into night
Light turns into dark
Head touches the pillow
Loneliness pops up
And doesn't leave before
The rising of the sun

City
Lights shining bright into the streets
Sounds of the subway keep the people half awake
Cars and cabs keep the streets alife
Homeless people are drinking and yelling
Cats seeking for food around the garbage
A night in the city

SHe
She was smart and quiet
He was social and smart
She was beautiful, but sometimes unsure
He knew he looked good, but never showed it
She was always wonderin’who she was and where she was going
He was living in the very moment
She was glowing, when surrounded by the right people
He was over excited, but laidback
She only let few people into her heart
He gave everyone a small piece of his
She was creative and loved to write and draw
He was very social but loved alone time after all
She had a hard time letting things go
He knew how to accept the way things go
She was always stormy like the wind
He was always calm like still water
He was high on life
She was high on love
He was in love
She was in love
He enjoyed cooking and dining
She enjoyed dinners and good food
He loved making fire
She loved staying warm
He once opened up and cried
She opened her heart and smiled
He prefered sleeping together
She prefered not sleeping alone
He was amused by the people of the city
She was amused by the rush of the city
He was never too late
She was always on time
He began wondering who he was and where he was going
She understood
He left

Citygal
A girl without her city is like mother nature without water, without sun.
There is nothing that feeds her.
People might think I’m overreacting, but this is the truth.
While others may describe the sounds of the city as noise,
for me it’s like music to my ears.
I would choose crowded over quiet,
And traffic over empty streets.
I’d rather hear honking taxi’s than silence of the nothingness.
I don’t mind take aways on every corner of the street.
I prefer light over dark.
I love a little life in the middle of the night,
In fact I can’t sleep without hearing the subway every other minute.
You can take me out of the city, but you can’t take the city out of me.

My journey
No drama, no tears.. one quick hug and I walked away without looking back.
I hopped on the plane, like I hop on the bus every other day.
Little did I knew that it would be love at first sight.
I hopped on the plane, like I hop on the bus every other day.
Little did I knew that it would be love at first sight.
I faced obstacles while climbing a moutain, but I reached the top
I found peace of mind and an amazing view.
And while I was standing on my board I could feel the effect of the Indian Ocean.
Coloured houses and coloured people, coloured my day.
I wandered around the city as I was one of them, one of the locals.
And as the sun went down, reality set in.
It was time to hop on the plane, like I hopped on the mini bus every other day.
Compared to the last time, I cannot say no drama..
I found peace of mind and an amazing view.
And while I was standing on my board I could feel the effect of the Indian Ocean.
Coloured houses and coloured people, coloured my day.

It was time to hop on the plane, like I hopped on the mini bus every other day.
Compared to the last time, I cannot say no drama..
Tears welled up in my eyes when I left Cape Town.
I felt at home in this rainbow nation.
I kept looking back until the city disappeared behind the clouds.
Yes Cape Town was beyond my imagination.
I felt at home in this rainbow nation.
I kept looking back until the city disappeared behind the clouds.
Yes Cape Town was beyond my imagination.
