A place..

I know a place
It’s not easy to see, you have to really use your eyes.
If you ask me what color it is, I would say gray.
If you ask me what shape it is, I would say it’s a circle.
It smells like garbage and the sounds are unbearable.
I’ve tried painting it happy colors, like pink and orange.
I’ve baked cupcakes a few times, to create a sweet smell.
I even tried to reshape the circle into a heart.
Neither music nor earphones can cover the noise.
Nothing is working,
And I don’t care anymore.

Get in your head to see, pretty colors, pretty things.

Or embrace the nature of Costa Rica
We can relax in Jamaica
Or catch waves in Australia
We can have siesta in Spain
Or smoke cigars in Cuba

We can rebuild life
And paint it different colors
We can sow seeds
And give them water
We can kiss the sandy beach
And hug the snowy street

We can lie in bed and watch the rain
