Man of the match

I must admit you were the man of the match.
I am impressed by your well planned strategy.
You made a few mistakes, but stayed on top of your game.
Who would’ve thought you could play the field like you did.
I got too close, and that is when you tackled me.
Followed by a long pass to create some space.
We had a good first half,
but the second half was the complete opposite of it.
Now it was your turn.
Determined to reach the goal, you misled me with a trick
and brought me out of position.
You hit it, you placed it.
The referee blew his whistle and the game was over, you won!

And just like football it’s not always fair play.
